How to do the Band Curl
Step by step
- Stand on the middle of a band with feet shoulder-width and hold a handle in each hand, palms forward.
- Keep your elbows tucked close to your sides and arms straight down.
- Curl your hands up toward your shoulders against the band tension.
- Squeeze your biceps at the top, keeping your elbows still.
- Lower slowly against the band back to straight arms.
The thing people get wrong
The band pulls hardest at the top, so control the lowering - do not let it snap your arms back down.
Coaching cue
Keep your elbows pinned to your sides so only your forearms move.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Stand on less of the band or use a lighter one to cut the tension.
- Harder: Widen your stance on the band so it is tighter through the whole rep.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Biceps
What to do instead
Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
