How to do the Brisk Walk
Step by step
- Stand tall, relax your shoulders, and let your arms swing naturally.
- Begin walking and pick up the pace until your breathing is a little quicker.
- Aim for a pace where you can still talk but could not comfortably sing.
- Keep your steps smooth and land softly; this is low-impact and joint-friendly.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Effort should feel steady and conversational, not a race - if you are too winded to speak, ease the pace down.
Coaching cue
Swing your arms from the shoulders and push off your back foot to pick the pace up.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Walk at an easy pace and add minutes before you add speed.
- Harder: Add a hill, or walk a few minutes faster in the middle of the walk.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio
- Secondary: Calves
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
