How to do the Easy Run
Step by step
- Start with a minute or two of walking to loosen up before you run.
- Ease into a light jog with a relaxed posture and loose shoulders.
- Hold a conversational pace you could keep up for the whole run.
- Land softly and breathe in an easy, steady rhythm.
- Walk to recover and take short breaks whenever you need - this should build you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Easy means easy - if you cannot speak a full sentence, you are going too fast. Build your mileage up gradually week to week.
Coaching cue
Let your feet land under your hips instead of reaching them out in front of you.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Run and walk in intervals, adding a minute of running each week.
- Harder: Add time to the run before you add any speed.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio
- Secondary: Quads, Calves
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
