How to do the Jog in Place
Step by step
- Stand tall with your arms bent at about 90 degrees.
- Begin lifting your feet in light, quick steps in place.
- Stay on the balls of your feet and land softly.
- Pump your arms in rhythm with your steps and breathe steadily.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Keep the steps light and low on the balls of your feet - this is low-impact, so there is no need to stomp or lift the knees high.
Coaching cue
Keep the steps quick and quiet; if you can hear yourself landing, lighten up.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: March in place instead, keeping one foot on the floor at all times.
- Harder: Lift your knees higher or speed up your turnover.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio, Calves
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
