How to do the Landmine Rotation

Core · also works side delts

Step by step

  1. Set one end of a barbell in a landmine or corner and hold the other end with both hands.
  2. Stand with feet about shoulder-width, arms extended, holding the bar up in front.
  3. Rotate the bar from one side down to the other in an arc.
  4. Turn from your trunk and hips, pivoting your feet, keeping arms fairly straight.
  5. Control the bar back across to the other side and repeat.
The thing people get wrong

Rotate through your hips and trunk, not by yanking with your arms. Let your feet pivot so your knees and back are not twisted.

Coaching cue

Control the bar across; do not let it fall from one side to the other.

Stay safe

Make sure the bar end is locked into a landmine or a braced corner so it cannot kick out.

Make it easier or harder
