How to do the Leg Swings
Step by step
- Hold onto something stable like a wall or post for balance.
- Stand on one leg and let the other swing freely.
- Swing the leg forward and back through an easy, comfortable range.
- Keep your torso tall and let the range grow gradually.
- Switch legs, and take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Let the range build gradually - do not force a big swing right away, and keep your torso steady, not swaying.
Coaching cue
Let the leg swing loose like a pendulum instead of kicking it hard.
Make it easier or harder
- Harder: Once front-to-back feels easy, add side-to-side swings across your body.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Hips, Hamstrings
What to do instead
Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
