How to do the Low-Impact Bike (Steady)

Cardio and Quads · also works hamstrings

Step by step

  1. Adjust the seat so your knee stays slightly bent at the bottom of the stroke.
  2. Start pedaling gently to warm your legs up.
  3. Settle into smooth, even pedaling at a pace you can chat through.
  4. Keep the resistance light enough to stay relaxed and continuous.
  5. Take short breaks whenever you need - this should build you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong

This is meant to be easy on your knees, hips, and back - keep the effort conversational rather than grinding against heavy resistance.

Coaching cue

Keep your knees tracking straight ahead and your hips still in the seat.

Make it easier or harder

Muscles worked

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
