How to do the Low-Impact Elliptical (Steady)
Step by step
- Step onto the pedals and hold the handles lightly.
- Begin smooth, gliding strides at an easy pace.
- Keep your posture tall and your effort at a level you can chat through.
- Stay relaxed and continuous for your set time.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should build you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Keep it conversational and low-impact - stand tall rather than leaning your weight onto the handles, which takes the work out of your legs.
Coaching cue
Keep your heels down on the pedals through the whole stride.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Lower the resistance and shorten the time.
- Harder: Add time or a little resistance while keeping the pace easy.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio
- Secondary: Quads, Glutes
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
