How to do the Pec Corner Stretch
Step by step
- Stand facing a corner or a doorway and place a forearm on each side at shoulder height.
- Step one foot through so your body leans gently into the corner.
- Let your chest open as your shoulders ease back behind the elbows.
- Breathe slowly and hold at a comfortable depth.
The thing people get wrong
Let the chest open gradually - go only as deep as feels like an easy stretch across the front, never a pinch in the shoulder.
Coaching cue
Keep your ribs down and your chin gently tucked as you lean in.
Stay safe
Numbness or tingling in the hands means come out of it immediately.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Drop the forearms below shoulder height and step through less.
- Harder: Slide the forearms higher up the wall before stepping through.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Chest
- Secondary: Side delts
