How to do the Recumbent Bike
Step by step
- Sit back in the seat and adjust it so your legs nearly straighten at the far pedal.
- Start pedaling slowly to warm up your legs.
- Settle into smooth, even pedal strokes at a pace you can sustain.
- Keep your effort conversational and your upper body relaxed.
- Ease off and take short breaks whenever you need - this should build you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
This is a low-impact seated ride - set the resistance so you spin smoothly rather than grinding hard through each stroke.
Coaching cue
Press your back into the seat and drive through your heels, not your toes.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Lower the resistance and ride for a shorter time.
- Harder: Add time or resistance while keeping your pedaling smooth.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio, Quads
- Secondary: Hamstrings
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
