How to do the Reverse Crunch

Core

Step by step

  1. Lie on your back with hands by your sides or under your hips, knees bent to about 90 degrees.
  2. Brace your abs and curl your knees up toward your chest.
  3. Lift your hips slightly off the floor at the top using your abs, not momentum.
  4. Lower your hips and legs back down slowly under control.
The thing people get wrong

The lift comes from curling your pelvis up, not swinging your legs - keep the motion small and slow instead of kicking.

Coaching cue

Keep your knee angle the same all the way through so the abs, not the hips, do the lifting.

What to do instead

Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
