How to do the Reverse Curl
Step by step
- Stand tall holding a dumbbell in each hand with an overhand grip, palms facing your thighs.
- Keep your elbows tucked at your sides and your wrists firm and straight.
- Curl the dumbbells up toward your shoulders without letting your wrists drop back.
- Squeeze at the top, then lower slowly until your arms are straight.
The thing people get wrong
The overhand grip works your forearms hard, so use lighter weight than a normal curl and keep your wrists straight rather than letting them bend back.
Coaching cue
Lead with your knuckles and keep them pointing up the whole way.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Forearms, Biceps
- Secondary: Upper Back
What to do instead
Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
