How to do the Reverse Wrist Curl
Step by step
- Rest your forearms on your thighs or a bench, palms down, with your hands just past your knees.
- Hold a dumbbell in each hand and let your wrists drop toward the floor.
- Lift the backs of your hands upward by bending only at the wrists.
- Pause briefly at the top, keeping your forearms flat and still.
- Lower the dumbbells back down slowly under control.
The thing people get wrong
Use much lighter weight than a palms-up wrist curl. The forearm extensors are small and easy to overload.
Coaching cue
Pause at the top of each rep instead of bouncing the weight back up.
Muscles worked
