How to do the Reverse Wrist Curl

Forearms

Step by step

  1. Rest your forearms on your thighs or a bench, palms down, with your hands just past your knees.
  2. Hold a dumbbell in each hand and let your wrists drop toward the floor.
  3. Lift the backs of your hands upward by bending only at the wrists.
  4. Pause briefly at the top, keeping your forearms flat and still.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back down slowly under control.
The thing people get wrong

Use much lighter weight than a palms-up wrist curl. The forearm extensors are small and easy to overload.

Coaching cue

Pause at the top of each rep instead of bouncing the weight back up.

Muscles worked

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
