How to do the Run Intervals

Cardio and Quads · also works calves, hamstrings

Step by step

  1. Warm up with 5 minutes of easy jogging before any hard efforts.
  2. Run near-hard for 30 to 60 seconds at a strong, controlled pace.
  3. Then jog easy for the same amount of time to recover.
  4. Repeat the hard and easy pattern for your planned rounds.
  5. Take short breaks whenever you need - this should challenge you, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong

Near-hard is not all-out sprinting - leave a little in the tank so your form stays clean and you can complete every round.

Coaching cue

Keep your face, hands, and shoulders relaxed during the hard bouts so you do not tighten up.

Stay safe

Stop the session if a muscle twinges; pulled hamstrings happen on the last hard rep.

What to do instead

Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
