How to do the Sled Push

Cardio and Quads · also works glutes, calves

Step by step

  1. Load the sled and grip the posts at about chest height.
  2. Lean your body into a low forward angle with straight arms and a flat back.
  3. Drive through your legs with short, powerful steps.
  4. Keep pushing steadily for your set distance or time.
  5. Take short breaks whenever you need - this should challenge you, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong

Keep your back flat and drive through your legs with quick short steps - this is low-impact, so let your legs, not your lower back, do the work.

Coaching cue

Keep your arms locked straight and your head in line with your spine, eyes just ahead of the sled.

Stay safe

Check the lane ahead is clear first; a loaded sled is hard to stop or steer around people.
