How to do the Stair Sprints
Step by step
- Warm up with easy movement and check the stairs are dry and clear.
- Explode up the stairs quickly for 15 to 20 seconds, one or two steps at a time.
- Use the rail lightly and keep your eyes on the steps ahead.
- Walk back down slowly and carefully to recover.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should challenge you, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Descend slowly and deliberately every time - most stair injuries happen coming down tired, not going up.
Coaching cue
Drive your knees and pump your arms hard for the full 15 to 20 seconds.
Stay safe
Skip it if the stairs are wet, dark, or busy; a missed step here is a real fall.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Walk the stairs quickly instead of sprinting them.
- Harder: Add rounds or take two steps at a time.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio, Quads
- Secondary: Glutes, Calves
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
