How to do the Walking Knee Hug
Step by step
- Stand tall with feet hip-width.
- Lift one knee and hug it to your chest with both hands, standing up onto the other leg.
- Release, step forward, and hug the opposite knee.
- Keep an easy, unhurried pace and stay tall rather than crunching over.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Rise onto the ball of the standing foot for a moment - it turns a stretch into a balance and posture primer.
Coaching cue
