How to do the Standing Trunk Rotation
Step by step
- Stand with feet hip-width and let your arms hang loose and relaxed.
- Rotate your torso side to side, letting your arms swing and wrap around you.
- Let the hips and back foot pivot naturally to follow each turn.
- Keep it loose and easy, building range gradually.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Stay relaxed and let the arms swing freely - this is a loose warm-up rotation, not a forceful twist.
Coaching cue
Keep your abs lightly switched on so the twist is controlled, not flopping at the end range.
