How to do the Treadmill Jog
Step by step
- Step onto the treadmill and clip on the safety stop before starting the belt.
- Start the belt slow and let it reach an easy, steady jogging speed.
- Run on the middle of the belt with a relaxed, upright posture.
- Keep the effort conversational and breathe in a steady rhythm.
- Slow the belt to walk and take short breaks whenever you need - this should build you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Run on the belt, not up on the front rail, and look ahead rather than down at your feet - watching your feet throws off your balance.
Coaching cue
Land with your feet under your body instead of reaching them out in front.
Stay safe
Clip the safety stop to your shirt so the belt stops if you go down.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Alternate a minute of jogging with a minute of walking.
- Harder: Add a small incline or extend the jog.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio
- Secondary: Quads, Calves
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
