How to do the Tuck Jumps
Step by step
- Stand with feet hip width and arms ready in front of you.
- Dip into a shallow squat, then jump straight up explosively.
- Drive both knees up toward your chest at the top of the jump.
- Land softly on the balls of your feet with bent knees, then reset.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should challenge you, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
These are high-impact - focus on a soft, quiet landing with bent knees, and skip them entirely if your knees, hips, or ankles are sensitive.
Coaching cue
Reset your feet and stand tall between reps instead of bouncing straight into the next jump.
Stay safe
High impact; end the set as soon as your landings turn loud or heavy.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Do squat jumps without tucking the knees.
- Harder: String the reps together without pausing between jumps.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio, Quads
- Secondary: Calves, Core
