How to do the V-Up

Core

Step by step

  1. Lie flat on your back with arms stretched overhead and legs straight along the floor.
  2. Brace your belly, then lift your straight legs and upper body up at the same time.
  3. Reach your hands toward your feet so your body forms a V, balancing on your hips.
  4. Lower everything back down slowly and with control - do not let your feet crash down.
The thing people get wrong

Move both halves at once and lead with your belly, not a neck yank; if your low back arches or lifts, bend the knees a little.

Coaching cue

Time it so your hands and feet arrive at the same moment above your hips.

What to do instead

Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
