How to do the Walking Quad Pull

Quads and Hips

Step by step

  1. Stand tall and grab one ankle behind you, pulling the heel toward your glute.
  2. Squeeze that glute and stand tall rather than yanking on the knee.
  3. Release, step forward, and repeat with the other leg as you walk.
  4. Keep the effort easy and the pace relaxed.
  5. Take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong

Squeeze the glute to deepen the stretch instead of pulling hard on the knee joint.

Coaching cue

Keep the pulled knee pointing down beside the other one, not flared out to the side.
