How to do the World's Greatest Stretch
Step by step
- Step one foot forward into a deep lunge with both hands on the floor inside the front foot.
- Keep your back leg long and your back straight.
- Rotate your inside arm up toward the ceiling, opening your chest.
- Follow your hand with your eyes and pause at the top.
- Return the hand down, switch legs, and take short breaks whenever you need.
The thing people get wrong
Move through it slowly and only rotate as far as feels open - this stretch covers a lot, so ease into each part.
Coaching cue
Sink the back hip toward the floor first, then rotate, keeping the front foot flat.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Rest the back knee on the floor and put your hands on a low box instead of the floor.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Hips, Side delts, Hamstrings
What to do instead
Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
