How to do the March in Place
Step by step
- Stand tall with a light, easy posture and let your arms swing naturally.
- Lift one knee to a comfortable height, then set it down and lift the other.
- Keep an easy, conversational pace where you could still chat.
- Swing your arms opposite your legs to add a little rhythm.
- Take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out.
The thing people get wrong
Keep it gentle and rhythmic - this is a warm-up, so there is no need to march fast or high.
Coaching cue
Roll through your whole foot as you set it down instead of stomping it flat.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Hold a wall or chair for balance and lift the knees lower.
- Harder: Lift the knees higher and pick up the tempo.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Cardio
What to do instead
Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
