How to do the Quad Stretch

Quads and Hips

Step by step

  1. Stand tall and hold a wall or chair with one hand for balance.
  2. Bend one knee and grab that ankle behind you with your hand.
  3. Gently pull the heel toward your glute until you feel a stretch in the front of the thigh.
  4. Keep your knees close together, hold easily, then switch sides.
The thing people get wrong

Keep your knee pointing down and tuck your hips slightly under - arching your back or letting the knee flare out lessens the quad stretch.

Coaching cue

Grab the ankle, not the toes, and keep a soft bend in the standing knee.

What to do instead

Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
