How to do the Quad Stretch
Step by step
- Stand tall and hold a wall or chair with one hand for balance.
- Bend one knee and grab that ankle behind you with your hand.
- Gently pull the heel toward your glute until you feel a stretch in the front of the thigh.
- Keep your knees close together, hold easily, then switch sides.
The thing people get wrong
Keep your knee pointing down and tuck your hips slightly under - arching your back or letting the knee flare out lessens the quad stretch.
Coaching cue
Grab the ankle, not the toes, and keep a soft bend in the standing knee.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Loop a towel around the ankle if you cannot reach it.
- Harder: Let go of the wall so you have to balance.
Muscles worked
- Primary: Quads, Hips
What to do instead
Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.
Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
