How to do the Stair Climb

Cardio and Quads · also works glutes, calves

Step by step

  1. Stand at the base of a staircase or step with good posture.
  2. Step up one foot at a time, driving through the whole foot.
  3. Keep an even, steady rhythm and let your arms swing naturally.
  4. Come back down carefully, watching your footing, and continue.
The thing people get wrong

Keep a conversational pace and take short breaks whenever you need - this should warm you up, not wear you out; step down carefully to protect your knees.

Coaching cue

Plant your whole foot on each stair and push through your heel to stand up onto it.

Stay safe

Use the handrail on the way down and watch your feet; stairs are where falls happen.

What to do instead

Same job, different movement — useful if you don't have the equipment or it doesn't feel right today.

Daily Coach builds this into a real weekly plan. It picks the exercises for your equipment and experience, swaps around injuries you tell it about, and tracks what you actually lifted.
