Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Daily Coach ("the app", "we", "us"), operated by Nicolas Lopez, collects, uses, and protects consumer health data — the health-related information described below. It supplements our general Privacy Policy and is provided to satisfy consumer health data privacy laws such as the Washington My Health My Data Act. If anything here conflicts with the general Privacy Policy, this policy controls for consumer health data.
The short version
- We collect health data only to run the app's coaching features for you.
- We never sell consumer health data, and we never share it for advertising. The app has no ads and no advertising or analytics SDKs.
- Health data is processed only by our service providers (Google Firebase for storage, Anthropic for AI replies) acting on our instructions.
- You can withdraw consent, request access, or delete everything at any time — deletion is built into the app.
Consumer health data we collect
- Body measurements and physiology: optional body stats you enter — biological sex (for the calorie formula), age, height, weight, and weight history you log over time.
- Physical activity and fitness: your workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights lifted, personal records, workout completion history, and training plan details.
- Nutrition: meals you describe or log, estimated calories and macronutrients, and calorie goals.
- Bodily conditions and limitations: body areas you choose to protect (for example shoulder, knee, or back) and any optional free-text notes you write about injuries, conditions, or limitations.
- Health-related messages: messages you send to the AI coach or meal estimator, and daily check-in responses, when they contain health information.
- Wellness inferences: the app derives coaching signals from the above (for example calorie targets, streaks, weekly progress summaries, and plan adjustments).
We do not collect precise location, biometric identifiers (such as fingerprints or face scans), genetic data, or reproductive or sexual health information, and the app does not use geofencing of any kind.
Sources of this data
All consumer health data comes directly from you — what you type, select, or log in the app — and from the app's own on-device processing of that information (such as computing a calorie target from stats you entered). We do not buy, receive, or infer health data from any outside source, data broker, or third-party tracker.
Why we collect it (purposes)
- To generate and adapt your personal workout and nutrition plan.
- To provide AI coaching replies and meal estimates you ask for.
- To show your own history, progress, streaks, and achievements back to you.
- To keep your data available to you by syncing it to your own private cloud space.
- To keep the service safe and functioning (for example rate limiting and abuse prevention).
We use consumer health data for no other purpose. We do not use it for advertising, marketing to you or others, profiling for third parties, or research.
Consent
The app collects consumer health data only after you agree during onboarding, and much of the data (body stats, limitation notes, meal descriptions, coach messages) is collected only if and when you choose to enter it. You may use the app while leaving optional health fields empty. You can withdraw consent at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Who can access it (sharing)
We do not sell consumer health data and do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. It is handled only by:
- You — in the app and via data export.
- Our service providers (processors), on our instructions only:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — stores your data in your own private, access-controlled cloud space and runs our backend.
- Anthropic — processes the messages and compact data summaries needed to generate AI coach replies and meal estimates.
- The operator (Nicolas Lopez) — limited administrative access for support, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
No affiliates receive this data. We would disclose data if legally required (for example a valid court order), and we would notify you where the law allows.
Your rights
Wherever you live in the United States, we honor the following for consumer health data:
- Access: see your data anytime in the app, or export a full portable copy via Settings → Export my data.
- Withdraw consent: stop using any health feature at any time, clear specific data in the app, or contact us to withdraw consent to collection.
- Delete: Settings → Delete account & data removes your account and all cloud data, or use our deletion request page. Deletion requests are honored promptly, including from our service providers' systems and backups as they cycle (our backups retain data for a limited rolling window before expiring automatically).
To exercise any right, or to ask questions, email openctest9992@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days. We will never discriminate against you (degrade the service, change pricing) for exercising your rights.
Appeals
If we decline a request, we will explain why. You may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line "Appeal" within 45 days; a review of your appeal will be completed within 45 days of receipt and we will explain the outcome in writing. If you are unsatisfied after an appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General (for Washington residents: the Washington State Office of the Attorney General).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit; sensitive data is additionally encrypted at rest on your device; cloud data lives in a private per-account space enforced by server security rules; and access is limited as described above. See the general Privacy Policy for details.
Changes
If we materially change how consumer health data is handled, we will update this policy, change the effective date above, and notify you in the app before the change applies to you.
